Hitchin School of Dance (formerly The Granville School of Dance) was founded by our original Principal of the school, Mollie Gilbert. In 2024, we celebrated 70 years of providing dance classes in Hitchin. We are proud to be Hitchin’s longest established dance school.

Lorrayne Spindler took over as Principal in January 2009 after Mollie’s retirement, and now the school has been passed on to Gabrielle Hammond, a former student of both Mollie and Lorrayne.

Gabrielle says ‘‘I have been teaching alongside Lorrayne since 2015 and am very excited to be taking over the dance school, especially as it is where I started my training at the age of six’’
